A bit about me…

I first visited Iceland on a university fieldtrip in 1994 and fell in love with the country and people. I have been back most years, leading both GCSE and IB fieldwork as well as family holidays. I have led numerous fieldtrips to sites across the UK, Iceland and Morocco. I have spent the majority of my career as a Boarding Housemaster and have extensive pastoral experience. I used my Mountain Leader Qualifications to take school groups to the Andes, Himalayas and East Africa.

Why I love being a Teacher Tour Leader…

I am fascinated by Iceland’s constantly evolving landscape and seeing the interactions between fluvial and tectonic processes as well as the impact of climate change. It is a genuine privilege to be able to inspire students in the field in such a stunning landscape.

My favourite activity in Iceland…

Snorkelling at Silfra gorge.

My favourite place in Iceland…

Lake Myvatn – as long as the flies aren’t there. Such astonishing range of landscape in a stunning setting.
