Overview

Travel through Norway’s stunning fjord region on this semi escorted tour on a round trip starting and ending in Oslo. Experience Flåm’s renowned Flåmsbana train and Bergen’s historic landmarks. Cruise the stunning Sognefjord and Geirangerfjord, visit Briksdal Glacier, and drive iconic routes like the Eagle Road and Atlantic Road. You will also get to experience Oslo, Norway’s lively capital, and enjoy your own time in Stockholm, the “Venice of the North.

Itinerary

On arrival in Oslo, make your way to your hotel (payable locally) for an overnight stay. There are regular busses and trains that run from the airport to the city. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Depart in the morning for the fjord region of Norway, driving through scenic landscapes and past Lake Tyrifjord. You can choose to take part on an optional cruise from Gudvangen to Flåm* (additional charge). Continue through the picturesque Hallingdal Valley to Flåm, where you’ll board the famous Flåmsbana railway to Myrdal, a steep and breathtaking route featuring mountains, waterfalls, and tunnels. You will then continue to Voss.

As both a UNESCO World Heritage City and a European City of Culture, Bergen offers a perfect blend of nature, culture, and vibrant urban life throughout the year. Upon arrival, meet your local guide for a walking tour of Bergen, where you will explore iconic sites such as the Hanseatic Bryggen, St. Mary’s Church, Haakon’s Hall, and the renowned fish market. You also have the option to visit the Fløibanen Funicular (for an additional fee), which provides a stunning panoramic view of the city from the top of Mount Fløyen.

You will board a ferry cruise and cross the famous Sognefjord, Norway’s longest and deepest fjord. You will then continue driving towards the famous Briksdal Glacier, a popular destination for visitors from around the world. You can reach the valley on foot or take a “Troll car” ride up to the glacier (at an additional fee).

This morning, board a sightseeing cruise on the Geirangerfjord, one of Norway’s narrowest and most impressive fjords, featuring towering rock faces and stunning waterfalls. After the cruise, continue driving north, passing by the famous Eagle Road, the steepest stretch of road up the mountainside. The road winds through 11 hairpin bends, with the uppermost bend at Ørnesvingen offering breathtaking views over the UNESCO-listed Geirangerfjord. Next, take a short ferry crossing from Eidsdal to Linge before reaching the Troll’s Road, an exhilarating series of 11 hairpin bends descending the mountain, known for its spectacular views. Finally, take another short ferry crossing from Vestnes before arriving in Molde.

Today you will experience the scenic ride and stunning views on the Atlantic Road on your route towards Oppdal. The Atlantic Road is a stunning 8.3km road route connecting a series of small islands via eight bridges, with the iconic Storseisundet Bridge offering dramatic views.

On the route back you will make a short stop in Lillehammer. This city holds a special place in the hearts of many sports enthusiasts due to the 1994 Winter Olympics, one of Norway’s most significant and successful sporting events. In the afternoon, upon arrival in Oslo, you will enjoy a 3-hour sightseeing tour with a local guide. The guided tour of the city includes a visit to the Frogner Park, with all sculptural Vigeland. You will also see the magnificent Royal Palace, City Hall and Akershus Fortress.

Today you will continue your journey onto Stockholm by high speed train. Maybe stroll around the narrow cobbled streets of Gamla Stan, the old town with one of the best preserved medieval city centres; visit the Royal Palace or Stockholm Cathedral; and enjoy a wealth of shopping and sightseeing opportunities.

Today you will embark on the Royal Canal Cruise. During the cruise, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about this fascinating city and its rich history. Often called the “Beauty on Water” or the “Venice of the North,” Stockholm is built on 14 islands and is surrounded by both Lake Mälaren and the Baltic Sea.

Time to explore the city further before making your way to the airport for your flight home.
