Overview

Nestled in a beautiful forested location, Ranua Wildlife Park and its wonderful cabin accommodation, just south of the Arctic Circle, is home to a whole host of native and other wildlife. Here you can observe wolves, lynx, moose and even a polar bear! During this inclusive 4-night holiday enjoy authentic winter activities, have plenty of time to relax, visit the wildlife park and stay in the wonderful Arctic Glass Igloo’s for a night keeping watch for the elusive aurora.

This great value-for-money winter break, combines many exciting experiences that you’ll treasure.

The first three nights are based in comfortable two bedroom semi-detached villas just across the road from the Ranua Wildlife Park, with unlimited entry throughout your stay giving you plenty of opportunities to get to know its 50 animal species. The villas, which can sleep up to 6, have a fully-equipped kitchen and lounge with log burner, and the addition of a private Finnish sauna will have you feeling like a local in no time!

Enjoy the last night at the Arctic Glass Igloo’s located 6km from the wildlife park on the shores of Lake Ranuanjärvi, away from any artificial lights. You will be transferred there to spend time in your new surrounds before enjoying your evening meal at the Igloo village restaurant. Then, overnight in the very comfortable Igloo’s to gaze in to the night sky looking for the magical aurora to appear – each Igloo has been built with unobstructed views to the far reaching northern skies. The accommodation has a cabin style interior with kitchenette, bathroom and private sauna, and the bedroom area under the heated glass dome, which melts away any snow from obscuring your view. The Igloo’s have either a double or twin bed, with up to two extra beds possible for children.

Itinerary

On arrival in Rovaniemi, transfer to Ranua, check into the Villas for a 3-night stay. Transfer time approximately 1 hour.

Over the next two days you will have time at leisure to enjoy the wildlife park or relax in the cosy cabin. Perhaps embark on another optional winter excursion.

This morning will be free for optional excursions. In the afternoon transfer from Ranua to the Arctic Igloo’s and enjoy your evening meal at the Igloo village restaurant. Afterwards, the night is spent under the glass interior keeping watch for the northern lights overhead.

After breakfast, check out of Arctic Igloo’s and transfer to Rovaniemi for the flight home.
