The iconic sloth is top of the list for wildlife-spotting in Costa Rica, but they can be notoriously difficult to see as they snooze high in the treetops.

You’re likely to encounter both the two- and three-toed species around Arenal, lounging amongst the leaves of the guarumo trees.
