Seals ‘n’ Beach, Abel Tasman

Introduction

Qualmark endorsed visitor activity Beginning in Kaiteriteri (with optional transfer from Nelson), this is a full-day catamaran journey aboard the Abel Tasman Voyager that heads along the golden expanse of Onetahuti Beach, and goes out in search of the highlights of Abel Tasman’s unique wildlife and history.

Cruising to the Tonga Island Marine reserve, you will stop to watch the furry antics of the resident New Zealand Fur Seal Colony before continuing on to the Tonga Quarry Beach.

Here, you will commence a scenic coastal walk, an easy 2-2.5 hours over a forested saddle and around the picturesque Bark Bay estuary with its cascading waterfalls and rich-blue waters. Ending at the sheltered golden cove of Medlands Beach, here, you will re-board your boat to cruise back to Kaiteriteri. This option also includes a return coach connection from Nelson to Kaiteriteri.
