Maligne Lake Cruise

Introduction

Take a scenic cruise on the glacial waters of Maligne Lake, surrounded by the soaring peaks of the Rockies and home to picturesque Spirit Island.

You’ll learn about the local history, geology and wildlife of Maligne Lake as you cruise through the Samson Narrows to Spirit Island. This little outcrop of land and its tiny grove of trees are overshadowed by the spectacular backdrop of mountains and glaciers that surrounds the southern end of the lake. Here the water is a deep turquoise hue, fed by the glaciers of Jasper National Park. At Spirit Island, the boat lands to allow for a short walk to the viewpoint overlooking the mountain ringed southern shores of Maligne Lake.

This 75-90 minute cruise takes place on board a glass-enclosed boat.
