Kaikoura’s special attraction is its marine mammal encounters – whales, fur seals and dolphins live permanently in the coastal waters. There are also plenty of cafés, restaurants and shops to explore.

This full day tour includes a scenic drive from Christchurch over the Canterbury plains before arriving in the picturesque coastal town of Kaikoura. Once in Kaikoura enjoy spectacular views of the majestic Seaward Kaikoura mountain range and the beautiful Pacific Ocean. In winter the mountains are covered with snow, adding to the drama of the landscape.

During the tour there is time to visit a fur seal colony before heading into Kaikoura for some free time to explore and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon you have a chance to meet the “locals” in a wonderful Wings over Whales fixed wing flight.
